Solix Technologies Announces Availability of Solix Enterprise Data Management Suite 5.5

Solix EDMS 5.5 provides easy to use and powerful data discovery for securing PII, PCI and PHI data

Santa Clara, CA – May 14, 2012 – Solix Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise data management solutions (EDMS), today introduced Solix Enterprise Data Management Suite 5.5 (Solix EDMS). The new release of Solix EDMS 5.5 extends the data governance platform to include data discovery capabilities and expanded data masking features. Solix EDMS Data Discovery, a component of Solix EDMS, addresses the key issue of identification of confidential and sensitive information such Personally Identifiable Information (PII), Payment Card Industry (PCI), and Personal Health Information (PHI) data elements so they can be masked.

According to Joseph Feiman, VP & Gartner Fellow, “Data discovery — an essential component of data masking — can be an important tool in creating a repository of security intelligence. This capability enables enterprises to determine where data is located, what regulations control the data and even what protection mechanisms should be applied, depending on the context (that is, the sensitivity of the data and the application using it). It can also detect and define sensitive data to the level of granularity of a field in a data record. “
