Everything was in our main Oracle database, and all we were doing was increasing the disk space, which was not very efficient. Data was just going to keep growing unless we archived it off and reclaimed that space so that queries didn't have to go through so much data and could run more efficiently.
I kept track of the time it took and the number of rows we archived off. It was almost 200 million rows, and it took just 105 hours to do it. It would have taken much longer if we had to do it manually.
