Solix Launches Data-driven Healthcare

Common Data Platform based on Hadoop enables low cost, bulk data storage and advanced analytics.

July 27, 2017 — Santa Clara, Calif. – Solix Technologies, Inc. (www.solix.com), a leading big data application provider, today announced Data-driven Healthcare, an application framework featuring the Solix Common Data Platform (CDP), an enterprise data management solution delivering Information Lifecycle Management (ILM), low cost bulk data storage and advanced analytics.

The Solix CDP for Healthcare moves or copies any data including EMR, radiology, pathology, wearables and IoT “as is” into an enterprise repository based on Apache Hadoop. Tier one infrastructure costs are reduced as inactive data is moved to low cost, bulk storage. The Solix ILM compliance framework classifies data at creation and manages the entire data lifecycle using rules-based retention policies. Once ingested into the common data platform, data is properly staged for advanced analytics and downstream NOSQL processing.

The Solix Data-driven Healthcare initiative targets the following industry segments:

  • Providers: Archive EMR data from Epic, Cerner and others. Improve cash management and compliance.
  • Payers: Provide a 360-degree view of the patient and reduce infrastructure costs by archiving ERP, claims processing and unstructured data into a common data platform. Prevent medical fraud with predictive analytics.
  • Pharmaceutical Industry: Move all data including FDA processing, ERP and genomic data research to a common data platform for advanced analytics and parallel computing on Apache Hadoop.
  • Medical Equipment Suppliers: Move ERP, product and customer data to a common data platform to enable advanced analytics and downstream applications.

According to the November 2016 Forrester report, The Forrester WaveTM: Big Data Fabric, Q4 2016, “Today, big data fabric is accelerating the delivery of insights by automating key processes for increased agility while giving business users more autonomy in the data preparation process. Enterprises use it to support many use cases, such as enabling 360-degree and multidimensional views of the customer, internet-of-things (IoT) and real-time analytics, offloading data warehouses, fraud detection, integrated analytics, and risk analytics.”

The Solix CDP for Healthcare is currently being implemented by several Fortune 500 organizations, in addition to one of Canada’s leading healthcare systems.

“With so much data of varying origins being generated within the healthcare industry, the role of a common data platform in healthcare is more important than ever,” said Raj Popli, Director Healthcare Business at Solix Technologies, Inc.

“Today’s pressures on the healthcare industry require innovative and cost effective solutions from CIOs,” said David Lundal, Managing Partner, Pantaleon Solutions. “The Solix Common Data Platform provides a powerful platform to build big data applications, and with this, CIOs can effectively meet all of their objectives.”
