Department of Health and Human Services Awards Solix Technologies Contract to Provide Secure Application Testing and Development Solution

Solix Secure Test and Development Solution Provides Instance Subsetting and Data Masking for Department of Health Unified Financial Management System

SUNNYVALE, Calif., May 8, 2007 – The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has selected the Solix Secure Test and Development Solution to assist with the testing and development of the Unified Financial Management System (UFMS), an integrated, department-wide financial management solution. The UFMS aligns business and technology to enhance the HHS’ ability to fulfill its mission to consistently produce relevant, reliable and timely financial information to support decision making and cost-effective business operations at all levels throughout the Department.

In recent years the Department had been experiencing rapid growth as they integrated more federal agencies under the UFMS umbrella. After a careful evaluation process they selected Solix Technologies to provide data security and masking solutions for their test and development efforts. To reduce the risk associated with copying sensitive financial data, the Department utilized the Solix Secure Test and Development Solution to first create instance subsets of their production environments while masking confidential data before releasing it for development.

“Traditionally, IT departments have to create numerous copies of their production environment for application development, however they almost always only need a fraction of the data,” said Sai Gundavelli, president and chief executive officer, Solix Technologies. “With advanced subsetting capabilities, enterprises can significantly reduce the time and costs involved while greatly reducing potential risks. This savings along with improved security is of great value to our customers.”

Solix Secure Test and Development belongs to the Solix Enterprise Data Management Suite of solutions. Its advanced capabilities allow organizations to create database copies while masking sensitive data in non-production environments for improved security, faster test and development cycles, and reduced storage costs.
