Three engines. One interface.

Ask one question. Get one synthesized answer.

An AI-powered Conversation Router classifies every question in real time and dispatches it to the right engine — structured query, unstructured search, or hybrid. The user just asks.

Three Modes of Access

One interface. Three jobs.

SQ

Structured Query

Ask questions in natural language. Get back accurate answers from your enterprise databases, grounded in the Application Knowledge Graph (AKG) built by Data Sense. Pre-built AKGs for major ERPs.

UQ

Unstructured Query

Ask questions across enterprise documents, contracts, policies, manuals. Sourced answers with citations and full audit trails. Permission-aware retrieval.

HY

Hybrid Query Public Preview

Ask a single question that draws from both structured data and unstructured content. Get one synthesized answer. Rare in market: one question, both data types, one governed answer.

→

Next: ask wider

Cross-application queries — the same vendor, customer, or material resolved across your ERPs through the XKG; one bounded, governed answer across systems (Preview). Voice — a full voice conversation with the same grounded, cited answers as the chat interface (Preview).

How it flows

One interface. One router. Three engines.

The same chat experience handles every question. The Conversation Router classifies what's being asked and sends it to the right engine — and asks a clarifying question first when intent is ambiguous.

Data Ask Flow
The AKG advantage

The question isn't whether AI can answer. It's who builds the understanding of your data — and what that costs.

Modern AI tools can be accurate on enterprise data — once your data engineering team first builds them a curated semantic layer to be accurate on, table by table, model by model, application by application — and kept current by your engineers as each application changes. Their accuracy is real. So is the bill, in dollars and in time — and any question outside the curated scope lands back in the engineering queue.

Data Ask was built to obviate that work. The AKG is generated automatically from your raw enterprise schema, at full enterprise scale, human-reviewed at every checkpoint, and updated as your data evolves. It encodes the business objects, relationships, terms, and tested query patterns inside each enterprise application — across the value streams (Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Record-to-Report, Make-to-Order) every enterprise runs on. No question is ever outside scope, because the whole schema is in the map.

And the graph learns with use. When a steward or an end user confirms an answer, it is recorded in the AKG as a verified query pattern — so the next question that means the same thing, however it's phrased, finds a proven answer. Fix an answer once and it stays fixed for everyone. Accuracy compounds instead of decaying.

Guided prompting

When questions are ambiguous, Data Ask asks first.

"Show me Q4 revenue" — but which Q4? Which revenue measure (bookings, shipped, billed, collected)? Guided prompting presents meaningful choices, letting the user confirm intent before SQL is generated.

Result: precision before commitment. Ambiguous questions become high-accuracy answers.

Built for the way people actually work

The answer is the beginning, not the end.

See it as a chart

Any result flips from table to graphics view — the visual read without leaving the conversation.

Take it with you

One-click download to Excel and other common formats — the answer lands where the follow-on work happens.

Background execution

A heavy query doesn't hold the session — ask, keep working, pick up the result when it's ready.

Suggested prompts

A curated list of proven questions per application — new users start productive, not staring at a blank box.

Personal query history

Every user's questions kept, searchable, re-runnable in one click — last month's analysis refreshes itself.

Secure by construction

SQL for tables a user isn't entitled to see is never even generated — and what does execute is filtered again at presentation. Every query is permission-checked and audit-logged.

Use cases

What Data Ask enables.

Finance & Operations

AR aging, AP exposure, bookings vs. shipped revenue, supplier spend, period-end close diagnostics.

Sales & Customer

Top customers by revenue, account-level history, order pipeline by region, customer-content correlation for QBRs.

Supply Chain & Inventory

Inventory turns, stockout exposure, supplier performance, procurement-to-pay analytics.

HR & Workforce

Headcount and span-of-control, position management analytics, compensation analysis.

Compliance & Audit

Policy-grounded answers across contracts and procedures; structured + unstructured in one place.

Voice Conversation Public Preview

The same natural-language interface, now hands-free. Ask a question by voice; receive a spoken response — with the same grounded, cited answers.

Deployment flexibility

Data stays where it lives.

No requirement to migrate data into a new platform before natural-language access works.

  • Production enterprise applications. Query live operational data through the AKG.
  • Archived data in Solix CDP. Query preserved data the same way you'd query the live application.
  • Data lakehouses and warehouses. Solix sits on top of any data platform — no migration required.
  • Cloud ERPs through AI Warehouse. Accessed via the AI Warehouse foundation; same NL interface, modern destination.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs for Data Ask

What is Data Ask?

Data Ask is Solix's natural-language query service that lets business users ask questions in plain English and get an accurate, cited answer from structured databases, unstructured documents, or both, without writing SQL.

How is Data Ask different from a text-to-SQL tool?

Unlike text-to-SQL tools that require a data team to hand-build a semantic layer table by table, Data Ask is grounded in the pre-built Application Knowledge Graph, so it works across enterprise schemas with thousands of tables out of the box.

Can AI answer questions across both structured and unstructured enterprise data at once?

Yes: Data Ask's Hybrid Query, currently in public preview, synthesizes one answer from both databases and documents in a single response.

Are natural-language AI answers over enterprise data secure and auditable?

Yes: Data Ask's answers are permission-aware and include source citations and a full audit trail, so users only ever see results they are already authorized to access.

Does Data Ask require moving data to a new platform first?

No: Data Ask queries data where it already lives, including production applications, the Solix CDP archive, data lakehouses and warehouses, and cloud ERPs, with no migration required.
